At this year's E3, Konami gave out two promo items of note. Last week we saw the Enthusia portfolio and this week we get the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater "album." Despite appearances it's not really vinyl, which is kind of a shame, but rather a CD single in a large cardboard slip cover.
It's all pretty self-explanatory, really. It comes packaged like an album, complete with lyrics and a one-sheet with liner notes on it, and even has the paper sleeve to hold the "record." The record itself has a sleeve in the middle for the CD, and it's a good enough trick that just about everyone who messed around with it treated the big circular piece of cardboard as a record, holding it by its edge. Anyway, rather than rattle on explaining what's obvious, let me transcribe the lyrics off the dust jacket. It helps if you imagine it sung like a James Bond theme song.
Snake Eater
"What a thrill
with darkness and silence through the night
What a thrill
I'm searching and I'll melt into you
but you're so supreme!
I give my life
not for honor, but for you (snake eater)
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you (snake eater)
I'm still in a dream of the snake eater
Someday you go through the rain,
someday you feed on a tree frog,
its ordeal, the trial to survive
for the day we see new light
I give my life
not for honor, but for you (snake eater)
In my time there'll be no one else
Crime, it's the way I fly to you (snake eater)
I'm still in a dream of the snake eater"
