ESPN the Games' next installment continues to improve and dazzle the eyes as we've receive 8 new screenshots showing off the game's progress since our last glimpse of the ESPN X Games Skateboarding featured last month. Without a doubt, the new enviroments (when was the last time you skateboarded in ancient ruins) are rich in detail, vast, and give X Games Skateboarding a defined definition of realism.

It's not uncommon that Tony Hawk fans in particular will certainly look at this game with much scrutiny, but as far as I am concerned, X Games Skateboarding is blooming to be in a class of its own. We'll continue to follow up on the games progress, and TNL will do its best to try to grab some video feeds of the title in action! Enjoy the new screens!

ESPN the Games/Konami have slipped us new details on the next installment to the ESPN X Games' series, presenting ESPN X Games Skateboarding, an authentic, action packed experience coming to PlayStation2 in August. Even though ESPN X Games may already be out of reach for most casual skateboarders, they can still take part in the awesome X-perience. Get huge air and soar over the crowd in the half pipe or grind rails and get rocket air on the street session as only the best will walk away with a medal.

Initial impressions based on the screens we received give a good indication that ESPN X Games Skateboarding is going to deliver a vast sense of realism and detail. The enviroments look simply amazing (not to mention there's lots to explore and interact with). Can't wait to see more of this game in action. Be assured once an opportunity to test-run this game presents itself, I'll be back later with some hands-on impressions!

Key Features:

  • Grab Air In Three Amazing Tournament Stages - Grind rails and hit jumps all over the street course or go huge in the half pipe as gamers skate in amazing re-creations from the 2000 X Games in San Francisco.

  • Take It To The Streets - Six action stages with a variety of locations including New York and Los Angeles enable riders to maneuver around cars, grind on handrails and perform sick tricks in detailed urban settings.

  • Get Real - Select any of eight accomplished pro skateboarders including Bob Burnquist, Colin McKay, Chris Senn, Kerry Getz, Carlos DeAndrade, Chad Fernandez, Rick McCrank and Lincoln Ueda along with all their sponsors and equipment.

  • Come Along and Ride on a Fantasy - Skate where no man has skated before. Choose any one of three detailed dream levels that put riders on unimaginable courses including the world's most famous oceanliner, a museum with plenty of prehistoric inspiration and some awe-inspiring ancient ruins.

  • Practice Makes Perfect - Still learning to get insane air? Try the practice mode with an interactive tutorial for tricks and combinations including advice from the pros.

  • Go Head-To-Head - Utilize the games two player split screen mode to go head-to-head for an in-your-face demonstration of skills.

  • The Options Are Endless - Choose any one of 64 authentic skateboards with different speed and handling characteristics.

  • A Crankin' Soundtrack - Featuring over 11 high-intensity tunes from artists such as Linkin Park, New Found Glory, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and more.

We'll have more details as they become available.
