Last month, we presented you with the news regarding The Legend of Alon D'ar - Ubi Soft's latest RPG currently in the works. Following up on that coverage, the company has announced that the title has gone gone and is scheduled to ship next month on December 5.

The Legend of Alon D’ar is a traditional RPG featuring an expansive and seamless world, filled with enigmatic characters, dangerous terrain and an immersive storyline. Players will assume the role of Jarik, a young warrior on a course with destiny to discover the dark mysteries of his past. Battle against deadly foes and unearth magical discoveries, as you dive into a limitless combat and magic skill system. Jarik and his party must use their skills and wits to overcome the unearthly evil descending upon the magical world of Chandar and discover the unimaginable power of The Legend of Alon D’ar.

Set within the original fantasy world of Chandar, created by scriptwriter Christy Marx, The Legend of Alon D’ar features various mystical races dwelling on a world that has been devastated by powerful magical forces. The floating continents of Chandar are populated by the Orin, a human race inhabiting the foothills; the Kemarrans, women warriors who roam the Kemarran Highlands; the Dagani, a race of humanoid amphibians claiming the swampy depths; and the Sarojin, a mystical breed of lizard people.

Featuring an open character generation system, players can control their party’s destiny with a limitless combat and magic skill system. During the course of the game three additional characters will join Jarik as part of his adventuring party. As the characters gain experience and levels, players may select their skill development path. In a storyline filled with many twists and turns, player choices will determine whether their party members become formidable warriors or powerful spell casters or something in between.

The Legend of Alon D’ar’s massive and seamless world highlights 100% in-game action with no cut-aways for combat or interruptions for loading times. An innovative two-player option allows players to simply plug in a second controller, which allows a friend to enter and exit the adventure effortlessly without disrupting the storyline. Sweeping environments featuring assorted landscapes for adventuring (grasslands, swamp, desert, arctic and underground) provide danger and experience, with a broad range of fearsome enemies to battle. The Legend of Alon D’ar’s party-based adventure allows players to focus on strategy and tactics during seamless, real-time combat to defeat their opponents.
