Feature ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon Review (page 4) 03/23/01
Raziel reviews the most versatile card in the market!

Overclocking

One of the best features of any Radeon videocard is that it can easily be overlocked without any problems (depending on your system) and substantially increase performance in gaming and getting a boost of framerates. With the AIW Radeon or the Radeon 32 DDR, you can set the clock speed of the videocard to match those of the faster Radeon 64 DDR, which is clocked at 183Mhz. Depending on your system configuration or system cooling, you can overclock the videocard to 200Mhz+ without any problems. However, I personally recommend not going beyond 200Mhz. I only overclock my AIW upto 191 Mhz and am quite satisfied with the performance of my games, such as Unreal Tournament or Quake 3

The best programs for overclocking and tweaking the Radeon are Powerstrip 3.0 (the old one) and Humus’s Raid On tweaker. I recommend Humus’s tweaker for beginners because it includes a selection of special tweak profiles that automatically configure your Radeon for a specific game or application. On both of these Radeon tweak programs, you can easily set the clock speed of your Radeon by increasing or decreasing the notch. Just keep in mind that myself or TNL will not be responsible for what happens to your videocard or any of your system components as a result of overclocking. Tweak and overclock at your own risk!

Conclusion

Overall, the AIW successfully incorporates the 3D processing power of the Radeon with a wide array of multimedia and video features. Those who want an all-in-one computer with TV, video capture / video editing capabilities as well as excellent 3D and DVD playback performance should seriously consider investing in the All-In-Wonder Radeon. However, if you’re just a gamer who doesn’t need all the extra bonuses, then the plain Radeon 32 DDR is a much better value.

The poor driver and ATI’s own tech support are the only factors that are preventing this card from being number one. ATI needs to quickly remedy all of the irritating glitches for gamers as well as those who bought the card for it’s TIVO / VIVO capabilities.

Rating: B+
